Friendship, fun & a great get together for everyone!

Gateway is a leisure and social club for adults with a learning disability, it takes place every Thursday evening at Charles Leeks House in Braintree from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. It is open to all members of Braintree District Mencap regardless of age or ability. There really is no better way to meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Joining in will guarantee a fun, welcoming and exciting evening of entertainment, it is a safe, enjoyable way to meet, learn, and connect with others.

Gateway is run by our Members Committee, they play an important part in helping to provide the entertainment and choosing which activities are on offer. Every member of Gateway gets an opportunity to be voted onto the Members Committee at Gateway annually in November/December. The Committee Members are always on hand at Gateway and our weekly sessions to listen, take feedback and ideas and discuss anything you may like to chat about, they will be in their pink t.shirts on a Thursday evening and they have a photo gallery on the hall wall, so you will always know who is on your Members Committee.
