This year marks the 70th year of Braintree Mencap. We are celebrating all year with events of members and most notably our Music Festival ICEFEST (Inclusive Community Event FESTival) on 28th June 2025 in Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens. Please contact us for more details and to book tickets!

Braintree District Mencap was formed in 1955 to help people with learning disabilities and their families. We have a wide membership throughout the Braintree District, we offer support and activities to adults who have a learning disability, as well as support for families.

We hold a variety of classes and activities throughout the week, as well as various other trips and events during the year.

Braintree District Mencap CIO is a registered Charity in the UK, Charity Number: 1192674. We are affiliated to Royal Mencap but are responsible for raising all of our own funds to enable us to continue to offer our services. We receive no statutory funding.
