This is a unique opportunity for people with a learning disability to learn how to upcycle furniture and learn new skills including sanding, painting, decoupage, basic woodwork whilst enjoying time with their friends. It is a class that is led by Aaron and his team which has a really friendly vibe. Meaningful activity at its best!
The furniture is then sold by the group and the profits are ploughed back into the group enabling them to purchase resources, materials and tools.
Feedback from support workers includes “It is wonderful that people with a learning disability are offered “grown up” activities in which to express themselves” and “This is a great idea, there is nothing like it anywhere else”.
